What is “cute”? Why are things “cute”? Why does enjoying “cute” things become stigmatized once you are out of grade school? It is only natural to develop the urge to look further than childish likes, but this act of self-denial kills oneself. Growing up should not require one to remove parts of their identity to abide by societal expectations. In fact, embracing the “cute” more in adulthood helps one not desensitize themselves in the bleak, real world. Nostalgia gives people the escape they need to fall back into old habits and hobbies.
2MiNi, my original character line, centers around escapism, relaxation, and comradery. It is the product of my persistent desire to live in a dream, free of responsibilities, with the companionship of all of my loved ones condensed into a single being. In this world, my characters find solace in each other, traversing hand in hand through unfamiliar lands and outer space.
Nini is an artist who dreams of eating her favorite fruits next to the beach, but is swamped with deadlines and lack of motivation. Mimi, her cat, serves as both her protector and her rebellious spirit.
